There are so many beautiful things about Santa Barbara. One of those things is the nice warm weather, and it actually played a large role in our decision to become California residents earlier this year. Santa Barbara sees about 300 sunny days per year and its an amazing blessing to be able to play and work outside year round! Winter is still plenty warm for outdoor weddings and portraits which is fantastic! We do miss having distinct seasons though, so we actually appreciate the days when it isn’t sunny.
On the day of this engagement session, the morning was perfectly sunny and then suddenly dense fog rolled in from the ocean right before we met up with this sweet couple in the afternoon. The fog totally engulfed the Ellwood Butterfly Preserve and Ellwood Bluffs. I loved it! I think the misty air added a beautiful elemental feel to these engagement portraits (such a different feel than this session in the same location). These two are obviously madly, sweetly, head-over-heels in love with each other. I think the perfectly timed heron siting must have been an incredible omen for their upcoming marriage. We wish you all the best, Jordan & Tomasz!
We wish you all a Happy (almost) New Year!
